Carlyle Group's Marchick to Ask for Federal Investment in Manufacturing

The Senate Banking Subcommittee on Economic Policy will hear testimony tomorrow on "Manufacturing and the Credit Crisis." Quality Magazine reported:

Leo Gerard, president of the United Steelworkers (USW) and David Marchick, a managing director of the Carlyle Group, will provide testimony in the first panel. While not likely partners, USW and Carlyle Group have teamed up to advocate for federal investment in manufacturing as a way of reviving our nation’s economy.

More federal money for private equity affiliates? What a surprise.
